Dollar Store Finds and Giveaway Winner!

I found quite a bit at my 99 Cent Store this time (which isn't always the case) so I was happy with what I came up with.

I found these...

sort of pretty all by themselves but I had bigger plans in store...

And these...

these were actually 2 for 99 cents (woot!)

I also found these...

I ended up using this...

and painted & mod podged those flower covered trays up to look like this...

then I took those little glass votives and filled them with sand, hot glued jute around the outside rim, and hot glued a cute shell to the jute...

Aren't they cute?

I also took those little baskets and painted them with this...

I painted them with a protective coat of polyurethane as well and decided they would work well as a

fruit basket!

And a napkin holder!

(and those little votives look cute in front of the napkin basket too, don't they?)

And I am so excited about my giveaway! I am giving one lucky person a $5o gift card to either Target, Home Goods or Home Depot - they get to choose. The random generator picked...

#20!!!!!

Comment #20 from Katie who said...

"Just started following your blog! I would def pick the Target card to buy some new clothes :)"

Yeah Katie! I will contact you to get your address and send you your card!

Hello Sis – Love your projects! The afters do NOT look like they came from the Dollar Store. You could use those cute aqua trays for so many different things. My fave are the fabulous votive holders! By adding the little shell to the jute really give it a lot of character. And what a great idea to paint the basket! Love the vignette as a napkin holder with the sweet votives in front. Job well done!

Blessings,
Marie

So many cute ideas! Isn’t it amazing how paint can make something look dramatically different? Thanks for the inspiration.

Super cute! I have a bag of sand and some votives stashed in a drawer somewhere waiting for me to find the time. Your project motivates me to dig them out and make them cute. Thanks for sharing!

Half the projects on my site are Spa Blue, and I did light switch covers with that scrapbooking paper! You’re a girl after my own heart. Great projects, they turned out way cool. Pop by sometime and say hi!
