Talk about a challenge! Hardware...geesh, it could be ANYTHING.
I decided to make some homemade coasters (with a sick toddler at home this was as handy and creative as it was gonna get).
I bought these from Home Depot...
I found the other items below at Michael's.
Our living room theme has a coastal vibe so I picked up this...
and some sea and sand colored paper, cork board, and jute.
I began by mod podging my cut out starfish to my tiles.
I added a couple more coats to make sure they were on there really good.
After letting them dry, I took the cork sheets and cut them to fit the back of the tiles...
then I hot glued them on like this...
I didn't want to leave that ugly space showing in between the tile & the cork (which you can't completely press together because of the ridges in the tile)...
so I hot glued jute around the seams a couple of times to conceal the space.
And here is the final product!
Check out all the other crafty creations over here...

Hello sweet Sis – I love the way your coasters turned out! Perfect for your cozy home. Really like the way you covered the gap with jute – so clever! And it added an extra touch of character to your already fabulous creation! Thank you for the inspiration.

This is a totally new take on tile coasters! The jute makes it so coastal. Nice job!
I love the hole punch idea. Haven’t seen that before. And the jute is the perfect finishing touch.
Nice job.
